COVID-19 Update for Patients and family of Arkansas Women’s Center

The physicians and staff of Arkansas Women’s Center are very concerned about the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. We want to give you, our patients, some direction for care. We are now scheduling yearly visits, emergency/urgent gynecologic visits, and pregnancy visits.

Companion Policy

UPDATE ON COMPANION POLICY!

AWC has adjusted our visitor policy:

Patients may have ONE adult visitor accompany them to ALL appointments. We strongly encourage patients to make alternative childcare arrangements as possible, but we are now allowing children to accompany you on visits when necessary.

Most recent visitor policy for Baptist Hospital:

Patients admitted in Women's & Children are allowed a birth partner and one visitor (over 18) to accompany you throughout your delivery. After childbirth, the patient's birth partner can stay in the hospital until discharge; one additional visitor (over 18) is welcome during visitor hours (1pm to 8 pm). The one additional visitor must be the same person throughout the stay. The one additional person may be a Doula.

Health Screening

There is a health screening area in the lobby of the clinic building, which includes a health questionnaire and a body temperature screening, via infrared no-touch thermometer.

Any patients exhibiting flu-like symptoms will be triaged and sent to our Baptist Little Rock campus emergency area for screening.

If you are pregnant with a temperature of >100.4 F, we will ask that you wait in an area away from the other patients so we can best assess you without concern for spreading infection.

We are committed to caring for our pregnant patients who are sick or affected by Covid-19.

Use of Face Masks

We ask that all patients, companions, and visitors wear masks for their own safety and the safety of those around them. Thank you for doing your part to take care of our community!

If you do not have a face mask, one will be provided to you upon entering the building.

To learn more about the use of face masks and how they protect us all, please visit the CDC website here.

Telemedicine

We are still available to ALL our patients via telephone. We have also began offering telemedicine appointments. If you have an issue that we can address using your phone or technology like Facetime or Zoom, we will attempt to accommodate that. Please call and make an appointment or speak with one of our nurses.

Patient privacy is a top concern. All telemedicine sessions are secure, and all data is encrypted. These technologies adhere to HIPAA.
