We recommend that you have an ultrasound at your first visit and around 20 weeks. The first ultrasound allows us to confirm that you're pregnant in the uterus, to see that you're baby is doing well, to confirm or change your due date, and to make sure how many babies are there. The 20 week ultrasound looks at the location of the placenta, the amount of amniotic fluid, and the babies anatomy. We do most of these pregnancy related ultrasounds at our Kanis office.
Your spouse is always welcome to accompany you during your visits and the ultrasound visits are "not miss" ones for him! Just because we recommend any test (i.e. ultrasound) does not mean your insurance company will pay for it. Therefore, we will ask you to sign a waiver that states that you will pay for the ultrasound if your insurance company does not.
