At the time of check-in we will ask you for your current health insurance information and will make a copy of your card. If you don't have your current card, this could affect whether or not you pay your designated co-pay or the full amount of that visit's charges. We will also ask you for your current contact information: phone numbers (the one where we -can really reach you), email address that you regularly check and your photo ID. We promise to not sell this information to anyone. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to accomplish all this.
No one likes to wait for a long time in a doctor's office. Therefore, we will make every attempt to minimize your wait. We have provided magazines and water for you during your wait. If you have to wait more than 30 minutes, please alert a receptionist so we can find out why you're waiting. If you simply cannot wait any longer we will do our best to bring you back in a timely manner. We love to see your children, but our staffs are not baby sitters. Please don't leave young children unattended in our waiting rooms.
Further medical check in will be done by our medical assistants or nurses prior to seeing your provider. This could include taking your blood pressure, checking your urine and even weighing you. The time you spend with the doctor or practitioner will then occur. A good way to maximize your appointment encounter is to write down pertinent information and questions prior to your appointment.
Please check out with our receptionists prior to leaving the clinic. We ask that you pay for the services AWC has provided to you at that time. Most of the time this will be a co-pay and/or co-insurance. We are happy to file a claim with your insurance company for most visits. Please understand that AWC is not your insurance company and that ultimately you are responsible for your bill. We accept cash, personal and cashiers checks, and Visa or MasterCard debit or credit cards.
